The title says it all. Our wedding day was very much so, the best day ever.

I was nervous the whole morning. Not to marry Matt, but nervous about standing in front of so many people. In my defense, I was also sick- yes, on my wedding day. Good luck right? But I was so nervous that when I tried to take a ginger pill for my stomach, I ended up emptying my stomach of any small amount of food I may have ate that day. Can you say blushing bride? I was such a beauty that morning…
Everyone kept telling me that all of my nerves would go away when I started that walk down the aisle. They were right. I felt so at peace when I saw Matt standing at the top of those steps. I must have still been a little nervous though, because the pastor apparently called Matt “Michael” at one point and I didn’t even notice. Maybe I was too busy focusing on how sweaty his palms were?
We were married in the same church as Matt’s grandparents and parents. I was worried about space since we had just about as many guests as the church allowed, but seeing how full the church was actually made me feel even more loved.
Our exit was a flower petal toss. It made for beautifully hilarious photos, but I spent the car ride picking the flowers out of my top. We drove around for about 5 minutes before returning to the church for family photos, and the whole time I just kept saying “Holy cow, we are married! You’re my husband!” Matt was amused but as thrilled as I was. Honestly I would have been just as happy if we never went back to the church and just drove around the rest of the night, just the two of us. Did I say this was the best day ever?

Our photos went so smoothly and turned out so great- all thanks to Stacey from SMT Photography. She was the right kind of bossy for my wedding party- we had a large group of 14 people.. So she sort of had her hands full with this group.
And check out my hot bridesmaids. I probably made it hard on them, but I basically told them all to find a gold, long dress- it just couldn’t be the same as any of the others. Those were the only rules. I thought it would be easy- but affordable gold dresses are hard enough to find- and asking 7 girls to find different dresses was kind of a task. So thank you, ladies. You’re all heroes.
And our reception was a blast. I was so concerned that our dance floor would be empty- but it was quite the opposite! My sister even danced most of the night..I don’t think I’ve ever seen her dance? Like I said, best day ever.
The reception went by SO fast. In fact, the whole day did- minus my seasick morning. I didn’t get to talk to all of my guests like I had hoped and I didn’t eat one of the amazing cupcakes that my bridesmaid Steph had made. (Cupcake biz coming soon for anyone interested) My mom did score me one in a to-go box though- the lemon blueberry cupcake was the best cupcake I have ever had. And I’ve had a lot of cupcakes in my lifetime. She also made my cake…notice a theme?
Honestly, I stressed about this day, and stressed my mom out about the day..and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. And marriage is even better. I love everything about marriage so far. No complaints!
